These Halstead 500590 thermistors control the temperature of the hot water and central heating within a Combi/ System boiler. They send signals to the main printed circuit board when pre set temperatures are reached allowing the boiler to turn down the gas that is being burned within the boiler, keeping manageable and safe temperatures within the boiler, common faults when these aren’t working are:
1)    The boiler overheats and then trips off
2)    The boiler constantly comes on and goes off.
3)    The hot water doesn’t get hot enough.
4)    The hot water gets too hot then the boiler turns its self off.
5)    The central heating doesn’t get hot enough or doesn’t get hot at all.
