Description

Biasi BI1011503 Riva 24S Diverter Valve

The Diverter Valve, also known as a three way valve, is a mechanical boiler part. it is designed to make sure the heat that is produced by the appliance is diverted to the hot water tap (if there is a demand for hot water) or through the radiators (if there is a demand for central heating). Note, a combi boiler can only supply heat to one source at any one time, either central heating or hot water but never both simultaneously.

If required when fitting diverter valves it is good practice to replace the fibre washers that connect the diverter valve to the pipe work. Also some diverter valves are connected to the pipe work via O?rings, these O?rings do need to be lubricated with silicone grease for 2 reasons:

1) To enable the pipes to slide into position easily.

2) To prevent the hydraulics parts from leaking once changed.

We do supply a 5ml jar of silicone grease and we also supply a Diverter Valve generic washer kit please see the related products below.

Further Information
This is an OEM Part

The term OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer" this part is an original part and was bought from the Original manufacturer of the part.

What does that really meanr a boiler manufacturer such as Wocester Bosch, Baxi, Glowworm etc.

Below is an example:

Gas Valves on most British Gas Boilers are made by Honeywell, Sit, White Rogers etc. This means that these manufacturers are the OEM for the Boiler Manufacturers, so as long as the original part is purchased (Honeywell, Sit, White Rogers) from the OEM it can be sold as an original OEM product.

OEM parts are also referred to as After Market Parts.
